Ingredients

  • 16 oz (450g) Pizza Dough
  • 4 oz (115g) Spicy Salami
  • 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce
  • 8 oz (225g) Fresh Mozzarella
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Basil Leaves
  • 1 tbsp Honey or Hot Honey
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to its highest setting, usually between 475°F and 500°F (245°C to 260°C).
  2. Let the pizza dough sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Gently stretch the dough into a 12 inch circle and place it on parchment paper or a floured pizza peel.
  4. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving about an inch for the crust.
  5. Scatter torn mozzarella pieces evenly across the sauce.
  6. Lay thin slices of spicy salami on top, overlapping slightly.
  7. Sprinkle red pepper flakes over the cheese and meat.
  8. Slide the pizza onto the preheated stone or baking sheet and bake for 8 to 12 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for two minutes before slicing.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of olive oil or hot honey.

Notes

Use room temperature dough for easier stretching. A thick sauce prevents a soggy crust. Avoid overloading toppings.
