  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup Pizza Sauce
  • 1.5 to 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup Pepperoni Slices (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Small handful Fresh Basil

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Dough: Take your pizza dough out of the refrigerator at least 30 minutes before you start.
  2. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place your cast iron skillet on the stovetop over medium heat.
  3. Oil the Skillet: Add the olive oil to the hot skillet and swirl it around to coat the bottom and sides.
  4. Shape the Crust: Stretch the dough into a circle that matches the size of your pan and place it into the hot skillet.
  5. Par-cook the Bottom: Let the dough cook on the stovetop for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Add the Toppings: Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, sprinkle garlic powder and oregano, then layer on the mozzarella and desired toppings.
  7. Bake the Pizza: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
  8. Final Touch: Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pizza rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Garnish and Serve: Top with fresh basil and slice directly in the pan or move to a cutting board.
